Another out of order post. Mea culpa.
According to the labor department we added 117,000 jobs last month, reducing unemployment to 9.1%. But “At least 125,000 jobs a month are needed to keep up with population growth” So we added fewer jobs than workers, and still dropped unemployment? At best unemployment should have stayed the same. Someone is practicing fuzzy math again. There are about 300 million people in the US. 0.1% of that number is 300,000. So to truly drop unemployment 0.1% we’d have to add enough jobs for the new 125,000 laborers AND 300,000 jobs for unemployed persons. Washingtons claimed 117,000 is nowhere close to the 425,000 neeede to truly drop unemployment 0.1%. Looks like unemployment went up, and Washington “adjusted” the definition of unemployment to get the number they wanted.
